Quilts to consider

I thought I'd share this link to Sue Garman's blog where she shows off her new quilt, Afternoon Delight. Scroll down until you see some wonderful applique pictures!

I've been busy with hand applique over the past few days. I completed two blocks of Jacqueline's Album first row.

An Album Quilt

Quiltmakers often designed and made an Album quilt to commemorate an occasion in the life of the group, recipient, or maker of the quilt.

The Album quilt would have pieced blocks and/or applique, and often would include signatures. They have been presented as wedding quilts, gifts to leaving religous leaders, and gifts to those who are moving away. The quilt blocks and design would provide memories of the time spent with the quiltmaker(s).

My blog name is A Quiltmaker's Album because I see my blog postings as forming one large album quilt, each blog posting as a block to remember my quilting adventures.
